  3. Static linked with Current (Inc growth,PDS,MSP, Subsidy, Food Processing, Agri,Irrigation,Cyber, Security, Computer): Cover aspects like what-why-how-prob-sol-govt measures and make maximum 3 page note on topic. GS-3 Economy + Agriculture Static Notes.
  4. Disaster & Environment: Current & Yojana March-2012. GS-3 Environment + Disaster Notes.
  5. Science: Follow only Hindu and Vision. NO BOOK NEEDED.
  6. Security: Current & Editorials. GS-3 Security Static notes.
  7. Reports: Economic survey, IPCC, SDG etc.
  8. 2016 and 2017 Mains Economic Survey Notes.

AGRICULTURE includes:

  • STATIC TOPICS LINKED WITH CURRENT.
  • Crops, cropping patterns, irrigation, transport-marketing, e-technology, subsidies, MSP, PDS, food security, technology missions, animal-rearing, food processing, supply chain management and land reforms. 
  • Prepare static notes for these topics and add from current. Questions from agriculture always test your knowledge about “history of topics” linked with current.
  • Land reform is not purely in agricultural context but also economic.
  • GS-3 Economy + Agriculture Static Notes.

  • Current: major part of economy section comes from current affairs. Hindu + Vision monthly is all you need. If these 2 sources are followed religiously and notes are made from these and revised then there is no need to follow any other source.

  • Current: developments in daily life, achievements of Indians, indigenization.
  • Static linked with current: IT, Space, Computers, robotics, nano-technology, bio-technology and IPR. It is very important to have notes for these topics covering what-how-when-history-why-pros-cons-govt policy.
  • GS-3 SCIENCE MAINS 2017 NOTES
  • GS-3 Science Preparation
  • Environment is almost totally current based. Hindu + Vision monthly is all you need.
  • Shankar comes to rescue for static questions like Allelopathy asked in 2016 Mains.
  • Disaster is static as well as current. Read Yojana MARCH-2012 and current.

SECURITY includes:

  • Static linked with Current: extremism, role of external state and non-state actors, internal security, role of media and social networking, cyber security, money-laundering, border areas, linkages of organized crime with
    terrorism.
  • “Security forces and agencies and their mandate” is much more static than current.

The common answer structure for GS includes:

  1. Introduction.
  2. Define keywords mentioned in question.
  3. News background.
  4. Points (10-12-15).
  5. Paper specific keywords.
  6. Diagram.
  7. Conclusion.

Paper specific keywords for GS-3:

  • Economic facts and figures.
  • Keywords from syllabus.
  • Government policies.
  • Economic survey. Click here to learn how to use economic survey without even reading it.
  • Budget.
  • Reports/Committees (IPCC, Agriculture survey, IMF/WB/World indices, defence committees names etc).
  • Just write “as per budget” or “as per survey” or “as per xyz report”. No need to even read these reports. Just quote them!
